What is cannabidiol (CBD)?
There’s no question that CBD is one of the hottest trends in health and wellness today. As a result, you can find CBD products around every corner. The products range anywhere from coffee shop lattes and moisturizing skin creams to pet treats and vaping pens. It’s no longer confined to dispensary purchases. CBD is popping up in major drugstore chains, gas stations, department stores and all over internet marketplaces (depending on the state).
Although it seems to be everywhere you turn, it is still a very confusing topic for many people. We want to help you wade through the hype and answer some of the most common CBD questions.
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in the cannabis plant. Its use can be found in a myriad of products to promote a feeling of relaxation among other health benefits.
CBD is one of over a hundred other cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. Other popular cannabinoids include THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBG (cannabigerol), CBN (cannabinol), and CBC (cannabichromene).
What is Delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta-9 THC)?
California became the first state to legalize medical cannabis in 1996. This trend reached other states by 2016 when Colorado and Washington became the first states to legalize Delta-9 THC for recreational use. Since then, 37 states have legalized medical use, and 18 states legalized recreational use.
Delta-9 THC, short for Delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol, is mostly known to be a cannabinoid molecule naturally occurring in marijuana and hemp plants. There are currently 124 known cannabinoids out of 400; Delta-9 THC is one of them.
Delta-9 THC can have psychoactive properties in high doses and carries many health benefits. It has been reported to help with sleep, anxiety, moods, stress, nausea, and pain management.
What is the relationship between CBD and THC?
CBD binds to both CB1 and CB2 receptors and does not inebriate like THC. In easier terms, they have an opposite cellular response.
Since they have opposite responses, the assumption that they cancel their benefits out can be made. However, that is not necessarily true as it is reported that CBD can improve the therapeutic effects of THC by counteracting undesirable side effects such as paranoia and anxiety. It enables users to tolerate higher dosages.
Benefits of Delta-9 THC + CBD
Understanding the benefits of the entourage effect, it only made sense for us to formulate a line that will help our consumers and their needs.
According to Farm Bill 2018, Delta-9 THC is required to be less than 0.3%. While staying within the legal limit, we’ve enhanced our full spectrum CBD with hemp derived Delta-9 THC. This equals more cannabinoids, more benefits, and a happier YOU.
Without giving any medical advice or claims, we will touch on the benefits reported by people and our customers, who use Delta-9 THC + CBD products.
- Sleep - Though effects can vary by individuals based on dosage and reaction, Delta-9 THC can provide relaxation properties. This can improve sleep when falling asleep faster and sleeping through the night.
- Stress - When THC interacts with receptors in the brain, it can increase one’s mood, lowering stress levels. Chronic stress is linked to six leading causes of death. Lowering stress long termed can potentially be beneficial to individuals who suffer from anxiety and symptoms of PTSD.
- Pain Management - Delta-9 THC has pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties. When medical marijuana was legalized, it was to aid pain management such as individuals with glaucoma and cancer patients. Those with glaucoma report THC relieves them from migraines that can be debilitating.
- Nausea - Cancer patients not only reported that Delta-9 THC has helped with pain, but also shown to be effective for calming the stomach, and helping individuals keep their food down. In 1985, the FDA approved a drug made with synthetic THC, Marinol to treat nausea caused by chemotherapy and AIDS-related anorexia.
